Intermingle (2023 - current)
minky dotted fleece, minky fleece, ripstop, polyfill, memory foam, and plastic pellets.
Intermingle is a modular floor-based textile sculpture composed of multiple hand-constructed forms. Each element begins with self-developed patterning and is sewn on an industrial machine using fleece and minky textiles. The sculptures are built around a memory foam core and densely packed with polyfill to create compression and structural density. Weighted plastic pellets are embedded within select appendages, allowing the forms to anchor, sag, and shift in response to gravity and contact.
Designed as a rhizomal system, the individual elements can cluster, sprawl, or interlock. Voids and extensions influence how each form supports the others, often relying on collective balance rather than singular stability.
Through softness, engineered weight distribution, and spatial adaptability, Intermingle proposes interdependence as both a structural and relational condition.
